Lake Meadows Volunteers Give Back at the Humane Society
At Lake Meadows, giving back to the community is something our team looks forward to every month. Our volunteers regularly spend time at the local Humane Society, helping wherever they are needed and collecting donations such as pet food, toys, towels, and blankets for the animals in their care.
One special contribution comes from Sandy, a talented seamstress who creates handmade blankets for the shelter’s furry residents. When the Humane Society learned about her sewing skills, they asked if she would be willing to make blankets for the animals—and she was happy to help. Each month, Sandy eagerly delivers the blankets she has sewn, recently sharing the moment with Volunteer Coordinator Caitlin when she turned in her latest creations.
During our visits, volunteers also work behind the scenes helping prepare treats for the dogs and cats, assisting the veterinarian with projects, and organizing volunteer materials. It’s always a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
The partnership goes both ways. Members of the Humane Society often join us at Lake Meadows to help judge some of our favorite community activities, including pet parades, cookie decorating contests, and cooking shows.
It’s a fun and meaningful way to bring our communities together while supporting animals in need.
