Lake Meadows Residents and United Methodist Church Build a Meaningful Community Partnership
Lake Meadows is proud to recognize a meaningful and growing partnership with the United Methodist Church that highlights the heart of its residents and their commitment to giving back to the community. For the past three years, Lake Meadows residents have supported the church’s food bank through regular food drives. Most recently, residents completed a three-week food drive that resulted in donations to two food pantries, including United Methodist Church and Third Phase.
Over the past two years, this partnership has grown beyond food drives. Members of the United Methodist Church now visit the Lake Meadows campus once a month to provide companion visits for residents who do not have family nearby, may not participate in group activities, or simply need someone to talk with. The volunteer team has grown to 10 individuals who spend the day on campus visiting approximately 20 to 25 residents each visit.
They also participate in campus events such as judging contests, taste tests, pet shows, and fashion shows. These shared experiences have strengthened bonds between residents and volunteers while creating meaningful moments of connection.
